What coaching is (and what it isn’t)
-
..a structured conversation that creates space to step back, reflect honestly, and think clearly about the challenges in front of you. A good coach asks the right questions, challenges your assumptions, and help you see situations differently so you can decide the best way forward.
Coaching is practical and focused, covering areas like leadership, difficult conversations, career direction, managing pressure, or navigating change. The goal is greater clarity, confidence and effectiveness — in a way that works for you.
Coaching is a choice. One you might make because you feel stuck or to help you with direction, decisions or clarity. It takes effort — you do the hard work — and if you're invested, it can be truly transformative.

...consulting, mentoring, counselling or therapy.
A good coach won’t tell you what you “should” do, provide technical expertise, or diagnose personal issues. A coach won’t provide you with advice. They might offer up their thoughts, but only when you invite them to do so.
If you are not sure what help you might need a coach can help you find the right way forward for you. Be assured that if your coach feels that another form of support would be more suitable in your circumstances, they will signpost you down a more appropriate path.
Put simply, coaching is a confidential space to think well — with someone whose role it is to support and challenge you so that you can do your best work.
